CELLULOID DREAMS
“Celluloid Dreams” features Michael Connelly’s
ECHO PARK PROLOGUE, a film adaptation of
the latest Harry Bosch detective novel along with an intense
interview with this Hollywood-based writer who optioned
another of his novels to Clint Eastwood. The conflict between
fiction’s imagined manifestation and the “reality”
of putting characters on screen is also revealed.

by her trek on the Camino, shot entirely on location in

both fictional and real violence when Craig Davidson’s

Limit Texas Hold’Em” (ECW Press) by
Angel Largay.

Announces New Television Series For
CHUM Television’s Access Media Group
and Rogers Television

In a trend tied to the appetite for dynamic
book-oriented content on screens from TV to mobile, BookShorts
is pleased to announce BookShorts
MOVING STORIES, an eight-episode half-hour
series produced for national broadcast in prime time on ACCESS
The Education Station, CLT (Canadian Learning Television)
and BookTelevision starting September 28. The first window
will be followed by broadcasts on Rogers Television, scheduled
to begin January 2007.
The series provides a unique lens through which to view books,
by adapting the work of contemporary authors into provocative
short films. Each episode is broadcast in conjunction with
the book’s publication date. The series is hosted by
Paul Quarrington with Bert Kish, combined award-winners in
literature, film and TV.
“We have to reach readers and short film fans where
they are, on their terms, in ways that will pique their interest
in literacy,” states Judith Keenan, Founder of BookShorts
and Executive Producer of BookShorts MOVING STORIES.
BookShorts will be working in conjunction with all publishers
to synergize the exposure of their new titles. Publishers
participating in the fall 2006 program include: PENGUIN GROUP
(CANADA); THE SECRET MOUNTAIN; ECW PRESS; MCCLELLAND &
STEWART; EDGE SCIENCE FICTION & FANTASY PUBLISHERS; WHITE
KNIGHT BOOKS; RANDOM HOUSE CANADA; and THOMAS ALLEN PUBLISHERS.

and offering multi-platform broadcast options - specialty
