Broadcast Ready Original Content
For Broadcasters,
Distributors and Retailers
BookShort's goal is to create properties that can be delivered
many times over many media platforms, including television,
broadband networks and the Internet, on the big screen in theatres,
CD-ROM and DVD collections, interactive digital TV and more.

The visibility afforded each BookShort project is proportionally
much higher because it is supported by marketing and publicity
surrounding the book release. Of course, books have a very
long shelf life, which extends to the short film as well.
Broadband entertainment, online social networks and digital
television channels are well positioned to leverage the advantages
of BookShorts media, while at the same time creating extensive
sales and merchandising opportunities. Mobile devices are
the next frontier.
If you are a retailer, broadcaster or distributor looking
for content that has high consumer appeal, contact
Judith Keenan to discuss how BookShorts can contribute
to your bottom line.
General Licensing FAQs
Each broadcast partner will have specific requirements, however
these FAQs will address the most basic.
- BookShorts owns all necessary clearances, copywrite and
permissions to syndicate content to broadcasters.
- All licenses are non-exclusive, unless media is specifically
commissioned for the broadcast partner
- All media is available in several formats of broadcast
quality, including Digibeta, BetaSP, Mini-DV and digital
files in a range of compresssion specifications
- Individual films and features often have alternate versions,
i.e. different durations, with or without closed captioning,
altered for family viwewing, etc. Please ask if you see
a project that may be of interest in a modified form.
- BookShorts is continually producing, and we have a library
of interviews and footage that may not have been used in
a final cut posted in our catalogue; if you are interested
in a specific artist, publisher or organization, we may
have media available.
